![]() Initially I was unsure about him, as he looked very gimmicky. Though, Morte hands out beats Svafa because he doesnt need to start with the GoM statue witth its punishment and panicrushing to buy the tats, overall lowering the runecost in using him compared to Svafa.Ħ/10. And not being locked into God of Vengeance like so many other heroes are. Especially once you get him the proper items and GoM's tats. TBH, Morte feels so good to play because he have the mana to actually creatively use abilities. And if you get him a +mana on kill belt and the goddess of magic tats, he becomes truly INCREDIBLE! Morte's mana innate mana surplus means that he doesnt need to suffer the punishment from taking GoM in the statue room and can wait till he finds it in the dungeon. Which makes him the strongest ability user in the game, since his mana income doesnt sharply drop off once hitting lvl 10. His mana recovery passive is incredible - gaining an extra mana from mana droppers, especially when paired with his ability Winter's chill that both freezes monsters and causes them to drop mana. A clear nod to the beloved skull of the same name in Planescape Torment, and arguably the strongest hero in the game so far. ![]() At least Lilith pulls slightly ahead from Hogg by having a more effective passive to gain life on attack, even if its low chance.ġ0/10. But she suffers from the same problem as hogg from having a buff spell reliant on hitting things, if you miss your attack you gain nothing from the buff. The third caster hero in the game, sturdier than Svafa. He have a noticeably different playstyle from melee users and is worth trying out for that alone.Ģ/10. The only dex hero in the game and a decently strong one at that, with a fairly useful ability, but not painfully dependent on it. Thoiugh he can be a bit repetitive by being so painfully focused on butcher in order to keep popping out hearts, really wants a +mana on kill belt so he can butcher as many monsters as he can to get more hearts.ħ/10. If you havent unlocked God of Vengeance.(arena only), Goddess of Benevolence makes for an acceptable substitute. He usualy ends up with 500+ hp at the end of the game with no investment in stamina, and with just a little, its not uncommon to hit the cap of 999 health. One of the stronger heroes in game if paired with the god of vengeance to truly milk all the hearts he can pop out to get his health to obscene levels. He is good in lower difficulties, but his power drops off in deeper floors as you dont want to reveal too many monsters at once, or risking insurmountable problems.Ĩ/10. A strong hero with a powerful spell that does high damage and heals you the more monsters you have revealed. But even if his abilities is a buff and prone to missing, they feel a bit more reliable than what Hogg or Lilith packs, due to lasting 3 turns and having more effects.ħ/10. But I feel he is too unreliable, you never know what you are going to get when you press the shapeshift button, due to having 3 different forms with each their abilities. The second caster hero in the game, n interesting shapeshifter druid with a penchant for using items. His problems with reliable hitting to heal from vampiric bite in early game with little to nothing in +hit items makes God Vengeance critical for him.ģ/10. But saving them to increase your max health. Plus his passive of double health gain from hearts is not terribly useful, as you generally dont want to use hearts for healing. Not a very reliable character as the health gain is not guaranteed and dependent on your melee attacks hitting, ie you dont get any health if you miss with your attacks. She is so dependent on the mana regen from said tatoos that Svafa can live with the punishment from taking GoM in the statue room.ġ/10 A melee user with a vampiric buff spell to heal him. Though it cannot be used on elites, and she is seriously dependent on aquiring goddess of magic's tatoos. ![]() A noticeable step up from Guy, introducing players to magic users and giving a very potent ability in Polymorph that never diminishes in power and remains relevant. And you generally dont want to reveal too many monsters at once.ĩ/10. Pairs well with God of War, as his Adventurer's Shout ability doesnt scale well, becomming weaker as monsters grows stronger as the number of locked tiles possible is limited. A quite average hero, but a solid starting choice and well filling his intended role as beginner hero. Thought it could be useful to make a hero ranking, now that theres several new additions to the roster.ĥ/10.
